The Fantasy Florist Family
Trevor
Our Fearless Leader and Chief Cook and Bottle Washer
Trevor graduated locally from Centreville HS and was Fantasy Florist’s first hired employee working as a delivery driver. By the time the owner was ready to retire, Trevor was managing the shop, creating beautiful arrangements, and increasing sales with his keen business sense and stellar customer service.
Trevor’s mom has always described him as being both right brain and left brain. He excels at math and has a strong business acumen while also being blessed with amazing artistic talent. It’s a winning combination for a flower shop owner!
At home, Trevor and his wife, Jessica, parent their four rescues. They adopted brothers, Tuna and Wasabi, as cute puffball kittens, followed by Henley (a blue heeler/hound dog mix) and then Polly (an almost Great Pyrenees purebred), the sweetest pups you’ll ever meet. In his free time, Trevor is a yoga devotee and loves being outdoors—hiking and backpacking with Jessica and the pups, and spending time in his garden. He dreams of owning and running a sustainable farm that would have its own restaurant, flower shop, and event venue!
Kristi
Lead Designer and Mother of Floristry
Kristi is a transplant from California where she started designing arrangements for her family’s flower shop when she was in high school. Her knowledge of flowers and beautiful artistry are the heart of our Fantasy Florist family.
At home, Kristi is mom to two college students and a high schooler. In her free time, she enjoys reading and taking long walks.
Kristi is a life-long vegetarian and has been a great advocate for propelling our shop towards more sustainable practices.
Margie
Manager and Planet Do-Gooder
Margie is Trevor’s mom and started managing Fantasy Florist after Trevor purchased the shop. Her background in computer database design helped the shop go from analog to digital, increasing our efficiency and strengthening our customer service.
At home, Margie and her fiancé, Paul, love their three rescues--a feral cat and two pups. In her free time, she enjoys writing and being outside. You'll often find her paddle boarding on local waters or running on local trails.
Leaving this planet better than she found it has become one of Margie’s life goals. To that end, she actively fundraises for the WWF’s annual Panda Paddle which combines two of her passions—protecting the planet and paddle boarding. Margie shares her love of the outdoors through her writings and “Before I Turn 60” Instagram account because she believes the best way to get others to care about our planet is to help them fall in love with the wildlife around them.
Katie
Designer and Chief Cat Herder
Katie is an aspiring florist with previous lives as a dancer, librarian, and IP paralegal. Finally free from the confines of a desk job, she is learning the ropes of working in a flower shop and loving every minute! Depending on the day, you can find her taking orders in the front of the house or learning to make lovely flower arrangements in the back of the house. Either way, she’s happy to be surrounded by flowers and the people who love them!
In her free time Katie loves to pamper her two cats and her husband (in that order), read, bake, and make art. She has been known to paint flowers on walls when the mood strikes, regardless of consequences, and with no regrets!
Jesse
Delivery Driver and Basketball Wizard
Jesse attended the University of Tennessee and is a big fan of UT sports. He also enjoys playing basketball, soccer, and golf in his free time. When he’s not playing basketball, you’ll find him watching basketball, especially the Lakers as he is a huge LeBron James fan.
Jesse enjoys working at Fantasy Florist because it allows him to stay active, work with his hands, and make people’s day by delivering beautiful flower arrangements! We love Jesse’s can-do attitude and willingness to help with everything from cleaning flowers to cleaning vases and keeping the shop organized.
Adam
Delivery Driver and Wildlife’s Knight in Photo Armor
Adam graduated from Fairfax HS and then moved to South Africa where he discovered a love of wildlife and photography. Adam’s patience and keen eye has produced amazing portraits of animals—everything from African elephants and lions, to Yellowstone’s wolves and buffaloes, to backyard foxes and bluebirds.
Along with wildlife, Adam’s backyard is full of native perennials and an expansive vegetable garden so working at Fantasy Florist is a perfect fit. We love Adam’s garden-ratatouille and his help with cleaning and delivering flowers and keeping the shop tidy.
